Park Road's architecture has been improved over recent years (but there are still sections of decay), but one suspects that's because it's more of a main road than Mill Street.

Think of how it looked two years ago! Now that the Florrie is about to be rennovated (I still won't believe it until I see it), and there are signs of new developments at the bottom of Mill Street (Parliament Street end), and some of the shops have been rennovated - not to mention a new takeaway opening (doesn't sound much, but hey -it's a step in the right direction), I think the open spaces won't last much longer. (Well, no more than 10 years). I think Mill Street should be opened up to through traffic again. The way so many of the streets in the Grafton Street/Mill Street area end abruptly with a bit of fly-tipping and plenty of broken glass makes that part of town feel more desolate and cut-off than it should do given its great location.
