    Man, by Gormley

He stands alone on the shore
    subject to the elements:

    solitary and encrusted,
as if by carbon or oil,

    as wind turbines turn
    in the distance--

    Man, alone.

Gorgeous pics.....my dad lives not far from there...in the house I grew up in.....we always take our dawg running along the beach when we come up for Christmas and other trips.....she loves paddling in the little pools of water that often collect near the bottom of the statues.....

Last two Christmas trips saw some of them decked out in Santa outfits....

When we first saw one of them it was very early morning and we thought it was a surfer....as we are both keen surfers we thought him a bit brave as it was sooo cold...til we noticed all the others and thought it was either a surfers convention or something slightly different....also a give away as they didnt move.....then we saw the big sign telling the story of them.......when I told my dad he laughed as he had forgotten to tell us about them......
