Max. Check out the one which is side on, near to the front door, hanging on the wall. I think that may be the one you've missed.

An email from Patrick Neill of the Liverpool monuments fame.

Open to anyone who is interested.

    Dear all,

Would you like to take part in a Walk & Talk around the Oratory, St James Gardens and in and around St James church Toxteth on Sunday 10 th June?

If so, we will meet at 10:00AM at the Oratory (the small Greek temple next to the Anglican cathedral). There may be parking available at the cathedral main car park or at the free auxiliary cathedral car park, off Upper Parliament Street. The event should last about two hours, finishing at the new café in the Anglican cathedral.

Robin Riley will be leading the event, but he asks for anyone who has addition knowledge of any items, that they share their information with the whole group.

The event is free to members of Friends of Liverpool Monuments. The cost to join the Friends for a year is; £5 for waged, £1 for students, retired or unwaged. This is for insurance purposes.

    Regards,

    Patrick

    Default Toxteth Boundaries

We've had a few discussions on this forum about what constitutes the real boundaries of Toxteth. Just to report this is nothing new !! The Earl of Sefton had the same problem in the 18th C

I've started taking photos of spelling mistakes.
The most common one seems to be when 'Prince's' does a sex-change to become 'Princess'.

    Hi Taffy

Of course boundary disputes have probably occurred ever since there began to be ownership of land. A famous local example is the Allerton and Wavertree boundary dispute of 1568 that resulted in the primitive map that shows the Calder Stones, as shown on Mike Royden's site.

    All the best

^^ 'CatheRRine Mews' with 2 'r's...fancy putting a spelling mistake on a sign directing customers to the show house. Prices from £235,000.
This link shows a few interesting developments including Ullet Grange for a whopping £980,000

I saw these going up. They are simply a wooden plywood interior wall with a brick skin. Buyers beware. Nice way to make money out of the back gardens of older property. Anyway what was wrong in with using the original name for the property, "Home for the Incurables Mews". On second thoughts, I suspect this wouldn't be good for sales.

Thanks for the link Chris. Whilst I knew that Wavertree township extended to Calderstones Park, I didn't know about the 16th C boundary dispute. Of course this area is L18 these days but would surprise many today that it really is in then old Wavertree township.
