I drove into town along Park Road on Saturday. It's been many a year since I have seen Park Road looking as good as it does now - quite a bustle about it. There appears to be only one remaining hideous eyesore - the row of buidlings opposite the top of Steble Street.

Who owns these buildings? Does anyone know if there are any plans to rennovate them? I'm torn between leaving them to rot hoping that one day someone will rescue them and putting them out of their misery straight away. Park Road has lost so many decent buildings it can't afford to lose any more. On the other hand does there come a time when we have to write these buildings off because of the detrimental effect they have on the surrounding area. I don't know.

They will probably get demolished as they become dangerous and just before they fall down.
The process has already started, hence the gap next to the pub.
It is a scandal. The couple of buildings between the gap and the former Savings Bank have a style that I think is unique in Liverpool.

These buildings on Park Road are some of my favourite derelict buildings.

    Park Road
Thanks for posting this picture. The old bank on the end is also quite a handsome building. The architecture of these buildings is clearly quite special and rennovated they would make Park Road look even better. However, the longer they are left derelict the more expensive it becomes to rennovate them. Someone must own these buildings. What are they waiting for?

    I quite agree Jericho!
    Who does own them?
How would we find this out?

The Council should know, also the Land Registry.
Every so often notices appear on the buildings offering the site for redevelopment, and there's a mobile phone number.

What lovely buildings. It a sin to let them rot away like that. They would look fantastic if they were brought up to scratch.

The three houses are 109, 111 and 113 Park Road.
    The Savings Bank is 115.

109 used to be occupied by the vicar of St John the Baptist Church which was over the road.

Here's a site with a couple of old pics of Gibbs Engineers, Mill Street (next door to the Park Palace).

Daisy Chains you can get a copy of the register for each house from Her Majestys Land Registry.

They only cost about a fiver each, will tell you who the current owner is, and the owner address, and if there are any charges on the property re mortgage, secured loans etc, also details of any coventents etc.

From ordering over the phone or online it only takes about 2 days to arrive.

    www.landregistry.gov.uk

Well worth it if you're really interested.
