Here we go again!
I agree with you about Sudley House. Locally, Mossley Hill Road is seen as the dividing line between Aigburth and Mossley Hill. In my mind (just imagine facing Mossley Hill church) the left side (the Sudley House side) is in Aigburth and the right side (Holts fields) is in Mossley Hill. People from outside the area often conflate Mossley Hill and Aigburth (perhaps because the railway station used to be called Mossley Hill for Aigburth?). I like the idea of the Aigburth part of Mossley Hill.

It seems that LCC is busy defining (redefining/inventing even) districts within the city. The boundaries of Aigburth in particular need to be redefined to fit in with modern usage. This would mean having the sign for Aigburth at the beginning of Aigburth Road. It always amuses me that more people live in a place they and the local media (and especially estate agents) call Aigburth that actually is not Aigburth than live in Aigburth proper.
Speaking as a resident of Aigburth proper, I would welcome the extension of our borders to Dingle Vale. I would not be adverse to annexing Mossley Hill and whilst we're at it we'll take Cressington and Grassendale from Garston.
Greater Aigburth. I can feel a website coming on
