Trying to locate my Great Grandfather Peter Jensen/Johnson who was born in Copenhagen in 1844. Peter was a mariner by trade. First mention in England was in 1868 on his marriage certificate to Mary Ann Bamber at St Peters church . At that time they both lived in Mersey street by Canning place and the customs house We think this might have been a lodging house run by the Bambers. We are trying to trace Peter before 1868 in Liverpool or via the sailing ships he must have travelled on. Any ideas please.
