I can see how the placement wasn't the best but trashing the column is just
More descecration by people with no sense of historical importance, that column could be a feature of the new museum plateau.
My grandmother Catherine Williams of Tarlton Terrace off Robsart St.(one of those tiny courts) was invited to the opening ceremony the original engraved invitation is in the family stash of stuff somewhere in a loft.I know people like the Bristows from Great Homer St and the Edwards' from the grocery shop on Great Homer St were also invited and walked through on the opening day.
