Don't panic
Philharmonic Hall, Hope Street - burning down 6/7/1933.

Barsteward - panicked me for a moment
And it's not from wartime bombing, but the piccy looks as if it is. Wonder what caused the fire?
The hall was rebuilt by June 1939,so before W.W.2. broke out! Found a couple of reports on the fire, but nothing on the actual cause, though?

Great to see. Thanks, Kev. Does anybody know what that Gothic looking building on the left side of the photograph, was? Evidently some church or church hall by the look of it. I would guess that an old map might provide the answer.
Best regards

I believe it was an English Presbytarian Chapel, called St Georges. From the maps I have it seems to have been built in the early 19th century and disappears somewhere in the 1930s-40s.
