This is Anderson St from No.2 which I managed to find for a chap on the Scottie Press forum. Even better is, they lived at No.8 and this could be him on the doorstep - taken 23/9/58.

No Mart, the curve is actually part of why the pics were taken. If you look at the gutterline down the entry, the pic is flat. Spike, that's a boundary of previously cleared terraced streets - so an oller or footy pitch of sorts to the local lads.
Its not the pic,Ged....it is actually the chimneys/walls bellying out...stress on the structure of the houses hence the bracing of the walls that was frequently seen on these terraced houses.

One must not forget that the burning of coal over the years would weaken the cement course and then the inevitable happens ie the walls move outwards.
