This may not help! but the only family I can remember conected with 'fishing' in Garston in the early days before the war started were the 'Slacks' Fred Slack used to have a shrimp boat I believe, and most of the pubs around Garston would have benefited by his supply of shrimps, and probably some of the shops too. I have memories of my grandmother in Byrom Street shelling shrimp for the Slack family.
