But... that analysis was way too technical for us non-teachers to understand....
It also covered London education techniques. IIRC, the Joint Matriculation Board was based on the few Northern England universities and was a completely seperate examining authority. I remember that since my 4 A-levels and 9 O-levels would not get me into any university outside the JMB area. The JMB had an exception for engineering that did not need a foreign language if you had a General Studies A-level (the fourth A-level) - I did not do well at French, and failed it several times...
