RE: Herbert Balmer
Yes, cremated in Anfield Crem, ashes buried in rose garden section 25.
All they do is dig a hole and empty the ashes in, no ID or anything.
My Mum,grandfather and mother are there as well.

Steve, thats a great site for info you are building there AND very nice to be offering yout time to help others
Thanks very much Steve, big help mate.
Went on Julie's walk today - it was very good. I've never been in Anfield Cemetery before and was amazed at how big it was. There were many poignant memorials, including the war memorial, the Blitz memorial with the massive grave nearby. I also saw the Wallace grave - very sad, especially as someone had put on a few plastic flowers. Sad thing also was that so many of the gravestones had been pushed over for Health and Safety reasons. Why are graveyards so facinating?
The walk also took us through Stanley Park - it has been renovated and is absolutely wonderful. The Palm House I remember was a rusting hulk that could be seen from the road and I thought many a time - "they should knock that down". I'm glad they didn't because again the structure has been renovated and it very impressive.
Steve, Julie mentioned a couple of times the help that you had provided, so thanks to you also.
Thanks, yes I saw the tour by the Wallace stone.
Did you see Jem mace, Lee Jones, Ismay etc
Steve
Hi Steve
Saw the Ismay grave - don't remember Jem Mace or Lee Jones. I do intend to visit again and have a more leisurely look around, so may call on you for some help!
I would have come along today if I'd known what the meeting arrangements were. I live within walking distance.
I logged-on a few times this morning to see if any times had been posted. I wasn't sure if it was a definate arrangement for today.
Pity 'cos the weather was so nice too. I wouldn't have come out if it was raining ! ha!
Those catacombs - I remember when they were in much better condition. I don't think there's much of them left to see now ! They have deteriorated terrible over the years, mainly due to vandalism.
