    Very interesting reading there Reg.
    I looked for the Empress of France. around 1960 she hit a `submerged` ice berg and lost 40 feet of bilge keel, it was cut off when we arrived off Father Point in the St.Laurence and landed on deck on the starboard side.
    She is noted to have hit another berg in 1933 when se was named Duchess of Bedford.
    There was a lot of lives lost over the years with those bergs.



    Here are some of the hundreds icebergs we sailed by in the Antarctic in March this year, they were giants
