Some more photos of Everton and Shrewsbury Club.
Pic 1 Court running down behind houses at top of Prince Edwin St.
The court showing at the top came out into Prince Edwin St
Opposite Prince Edwin St Primary School, (March Grove?)
Pic 2 Another picture from club magazine showing top of Rose Vale, Anthony St, Arkwright St, after the Blitz of 1942. You can just see some air raid shelters in the distance.
Pic 3 On a different note. Here are club members from 1904 enjoying a game of billiards.
Pic 4 In contrast here are club members from the 1950?s plying billiards.
I think it might be the same table from previous picture!
Hi just a few of my pictures of the area while whizzing through on my broomstick a few years back.
Amp, you are brilliant with those photos. I went to the club a few years back to see the chap running the venture. You and his volunteers deserve a mention in history for doing your great work, thank you.
More great pics Samp and your too Potter. I went to Rossy for a year in 1974 when in 2nd year St. Gregs. We all had to move across, lock, stock and barrell when Greg's was getting done up and they found asbestos. There was a big caged footy pitch behind it which we used to use and that corridor brought back memories. If I remember correctly, through those double doors at the end led into the big assembly hall we used as the gym.
Great stuff, Samp.
As you are compiling a record of the area, do you want some of my own pics? They should be shared with others.

You take them for granted - until one day they're gone!
Very Good Potter
Keeping it real!

Hello Sirob!
The small band of senior surfers I am working with are compiling a history of the Shrewsbury Boys Club. lots of information and photos are being discovered relating to the Everton area. I am compiling any photos or information relating to the area. Born and bred there it holds fond memories for me, and of course the old housing has all gone. any photos would be welcome.
Good pictures Potter!
They bring back memories, the corridors look small to when I was there.
We have some photos of the school being built but I have not pasted them up becouse I am not sure who they belong to. If I can get permission I will paste them up.
A good shot of the old club building in Portland place, now apartments I believe.
Hello Sirob. I am not getting any joy with cravenapple@aol.com
I have tried through google, but not luck.
Samp. Try as I might, I cannot find a pic of that old disused pub on the corner of Wakefield Street and Mansfield Street that was used by the Shewsy lads at the beginning but i'll keep looking.

Hello Billy
There are plenty of photos from your era, but because of the amount of stuff to go onto computer we are drawing a line up to the 60,s, we hope someone from that period may take up the challenge and carry on from there.
You are welcome to call in any Friday morning, ask for the archive team, we will be able to let you look through some photos of your era. maybe you can identify some faces for us.
