Deprived of its unique dockland waters Liverpool
becomes a Venice without canals, just another city, no
longer of special interest to anyone, least of all the
tourist. Would we visit a modernised Venice of filled in
canals to view its modern museum describing
how it once was?

His dad was a publican so he may well have been in a pub in the North of the city at one time or other.

took these of the old barracks on Wellington Rd on Tuesday. My dad was based here during his TA service many years ago.

was rummaging through a box of photos and found these . there was a local history event where the lock up was open for the day. must be mid 90's as it was before my dad died and I took them for him as he was too ill to go.

quite shocked when going down Picton Rd on the bus on Friday to see Wavertree Labour Club had been demolished.
My paternal grandad use to be in a concert party that did shows there, and my maternal one collected union dues there for years.

Most of Wavertree Road has been demolished. It's a joke.
We've now lost the Botanic (which was lovely in its time) and now the Bridge Inn Pub.
Why not just concrete everything between Liverpool City Centre and the Rocket and have done with??
Anyone know what is happening to Mount vernon green when 'Edfge lane west' is completed. By my reckoning, they are going to have to widen the road along north view if they are to make it 2 lanes in each direction so edge lane can continue down instead of having to go around the church down irvine street or along hall lane and that must mean part of the green going. Anyone know anything about it?
thanks
Got a letter through the door about a proposal to reopen a former train station on Smithdown road as a train station again.
That will be sweet, nearest stations to me for city lines are the Technology park one or Mossley Hill.
It's the building right by the bridge opposite Garmoyle road.
Gididi Gididi Goo.
Currently does metal work on motorbikes and stuff still I think.
Except for Central for the Wirral, I always used Mossley Hill or St Michael's since there the nearest stations for me for where I want to go.
