Does anyone else remember the proposed Kirkby/Knowsley Pavilion project from some time in the early 70's?

This was supposed to be a huge sports/entertainment complex somewhere in Knowsley - I cannot remember exactly where it was going to be, but I do remember seeing pictures of the site, which had even been landscaped in readiness.



There was an open meeting about it at the Kirkby library that I remember going to, with various models, pictures and a discussion on the proposal.

But alas, no more was ever heard of it.

Anyone else remember it? Can't find any info on it on the net at all.
