One of my weekend haunts this Chris. In Litherland Road, Bootle - Merton Road end - not a million miles from the docks but wouldn't liike to walk it if gasping for a pint

Locally known as Bootle village - a few pubs in the general locality.

Thanks, Ged. I suppose the actual tavern has gone and the datestone was just incorporated into a later building, is that right?

so my guess for a pub in the guess the location is a bit out then.
It's 75 Seaforth Road, on the corner of Seaforth Vale West, and its probably always been a shop.
I found a site for Seaforth this morning, and nobody there knows what it's all about, but somebody pointed out that that terrace was built soon after 1881.

Just shows you. I spend ages photographing other areas and miss stuff 2 minutes away.
I've got a book on Seaforth. just popping to the local shop will have a look when I get back, might be an old pic of it. won't be long.

re Eaton Road: I know that building you mean. It also has a pair of hands shaking, at the top of the building.

I think I may have solved my missing pics because it's only happening with Philips, can't see his Cemetery gates on another thread either.

New comp in work has a filter which is not allowing some sites to be accessed, so I guess flickr is one of them then.

Yeah it could do. The section on the side I mean is a little taller than the ones to the left so there could be room for more sign o stuff. I think there are also shaking hands in tuebrook on one of the buildings, maybe by the co-op shop

went to Eaton Rd to do the old Co-op that was mentioned

these are the hands on the West Derby Rd one, this was one of the Co-Ops my late mum worked at in the late 50's early 60's. she also worked at the Darley Drive branch

West Derby village, by the Somerfield

    Aintree Rd, Bootle

    saved the best til last
    Lisburn Lane, Tuebrook
this was as close as I could get without going into someones front garden

it's for an auction of investment properties and dwelling houses August 1945
