Alan Rudkin

Does anyone know whatever happened to Alan Rudkin the former Bantamweight European Boxing champion? I last saw him in the late 80s walking along Vauxhall Road as he lived off Boundary street. I gave him a lift as he was a bit unsteady. Before that I knew him as the Licensee of the Noahs Ark in Speke.

I havn't seen him for a few years now , but his ears must be burning , only today I took an old photo to my dads .It shows Alan & Bache (demolishing /salvaging )the old Golden Gloves sign , The photo was taken in the old services club . Isn't that strange you posting this today ,

Wierd. He was a forgotten hero. I hope he's still around and healthy.

I know yeh ,
He looks so young on the photo , but then again it was taken over 30yrs ago , If i see Tate or Bache ( boxing mates ) i'll ask what Alan is up to .

He certainly did! Got rid of all the willy wooftahs which was a shame, it wasn't half as entertaining, after the cull!

There is an Alan Rudkin that is shown on the Electoral roll living off Hope Street. Now all we need to know is if he is healthy. Verdi has seen him not so long ago so thats a good sign. We need to preserve our living treasures as well as our material ones. Alan Rudkin, what a guy!

It was the big house (Vines) that he had. My pa in law saw him recently.

Karen you know me? how flattering Yep Alan had the big house, a funny story he told us, was that there were two big old paintings hung in the back room for years, no one knew or cared about. The brewery came to invoice the pub, and discovered they were worth £250,000 each!! Aslan missed out again
