Does anybody have any information on the following companies in particular on Old Hall Street, Liverpool?

The River Plate Fresh Meat Company.
The British & Argentine Meat Company.

My great grandfather was a New Yorker who worked as a foreman/cattleman on the ships between various US ports and Liverpool. He married in 1907 in Liverpool and his in-laws (McArdle) business changed from being coal merchants (1905-1908) to meat in 1910.

Their address was 80 Old Hall Street - listed as the River Plate Fresh Meat Co (1910-1914) and then the British & Argentine Meat Co in 1915.

I am sure his connections influenced this change in business however, curiously the premises was listed as W. Wilson & Sons, Butchers in 1901 !!!

I've got various maps showing the company's warehouses (Great Howard Street area) and another shop on Vauxhall Road/Eldon Place. I think they were a sort of franchise.
