Childwall Valley Road 'under the bridge' has always been known to flood slightly and the road was filled 'up' about 40 years ago so there was less of a dip as you go under the bridge.
Today, after the drop of rain that we had, it resembled the once running Childwall Brook which ran at the very same spot!

Thanks, Cadfael. Isn't the point that the water that rose up
is the Childwall Brook that has been channelized and diverted underground? I know when it rained while I was living with my grandparents on Aigburth Hall Avenue, the bottom of the garden would always flood, and I used to think it was "Solomon's Vaults" reappearing. I wrote a poem about myself and a mate of mine digging to find Solomon's Vaults. I'll put it in the "creative" area.
