My memories of Sudley Hall involved lots of butterflies with pins stuck in them...Lots and lots of them...
I like the new inside look and layout, but what happened to all of those butterfies?
I also used to fly model planes (not very sucessfully) on Holt's field (next to the cricket pitch - same view), but I think that stopped because of noise complaints (early 60's).

I loved going to this grand old house I lived very close off Holmefield Road, and took my dog to the field where they are playing cricket,it is a lovely area.

When I go out for a cycle ride and want to go the shops, I go to Mossley Hill and I'm there lots anyway when I go the gym.
Went to Sudley House last year, lovely building which I shall have to take a photo of next time.
Most of the houses around North Mossley Hill road are lovely too.

lovely thread, remember beautifully carved ships, shrunken heads, gobsmacking paintings and exploring the (then) abandoned outbuildings which always seemed to smell of ****![]()
Does anyone know what and where Mossley Hill covers? I imagine Rose Lane is apart of this suburb?
Sadly, I tend to find this part of Liverpool is just one mass of 30's suburban housing where the likes of Allerton, Mossley Hill ect just merge into one area...not like North Liverpool where there are clear boundaries (for example Walton and Fazak')

Apologies for the durge in updates!
I think it's because the Ancient Toxteth Deer Park once covered a large area.
Covers Penny Lane, Dovedale, Rose Lane, Greenbank Road/Park, Mossley Hill Road and Sudley Road and such I think.
Oh yeah and some of Brodie Avenue too.
