Before the birth of our first child we were struggling over names. I was keen on either Alexander or Alexandra, depending on the sex. We discussed it for weeks and Ruth had her own ideas (funnily enough, one of them was Eleanor - but no connection to Rigby).

The day I was taking her to the hospital, we had a sign!

Waiting to turn into the road where the hospital was, I noticed the number plate of the car in front.

    A437LEX.

That was it - the name was chosen! He'll be 20 this year.

Anyone else named their child after a number plate?
Very interesting. Your story put in mind of the number plate on the cover of the Abbey Road LP. As you may recall, the number plate on the back of a white VW Beetle parked in Abbey Road near the group's recording studio reads "28 IF." This was taken by those who theorized the real Paul McCartney had died to be the age of Macca if he had lived... The Beatles in the foreground are walking across a zebra crossing, and the replacement Paul's bare feet are said to be confirmation that the real Paul had died, John's dressed all in white so he must have preached at the funeral, etc, etc.

Yes, only he would have actually only been 27. However, the theorists even had a bizarre explaination for this claiming that you're in the womb for 9 months so are actually 1 when you come out. Crazy!!!!!!!

The crazies out there can rationalise anything - look at the number of Reds fans still supporting Rafa!

Having spent a good amount of time in St Peter's Churchyard (and up the tower) my thoughts to the lyrics of 'Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been' is simply pointing to the grave itself is 'picking up' the rice as it gets covered in it by the main gate.
