Thread: Searching for descendants of William and Agnes Hulme?

Default Searching for descendants of William and Agnes Hulme?

William and Agnes of 52 Selwyn St, Bootle, Liverpool, had seven
Children; William Harold, Mary Agnes, Thomas, Henry, Millie, Eric and Elsie.

Mary Agnes (also known as Jennie) was my grandmother. She had four
children out of marriage, whom were all adopted. One of which John (my dad), was adopted by his uncle William Harold. This has been a family secret until recently.

I have located the descendants of William Harold and Henry, but I am still trying to find descendants of the other four, stated above. If you are related to any of the above, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Hannah

    Hi Hannah,
I have found 3 William Hulmes in my tree , i wonder if we have a link somewhere ?

    William Hulme b c 1834.

    " " " 1860. He married Annie Milington

    " " " 1880.

I presume the next William born also took his fathers name & carried on the tradition .
    Good luck with your search

    Default William Hulme

    Karen

I think we are in the same territory here.

I've been searching for William Hulme (b.1860, Liverpool) for a while. He did have a son called.... William Millington Hulme (b.1880, Liverpool) who married my wife's great grandmother, Mary Hannah Morse in Swansea in 1902. He died in Swansea in 1922.

My search for William (b. 1860) has led to a range of census data for 1881, 1891 and 1901 but although Annie and 4 children are shown at 13 Becker (?) Street in 1891 there is no sign of our William???? Family stories suggest that he may have been an engineer in India at the time but I've found no evidence to support this.

Any information you have would be gratefully received.

    Thanks Andrew

    Andrew ,
I've managed to get loads of info , William did indeed go off to India ! Someone has a photo to prove it ,
He went to Philibi near Naini Tal north , don't know how to spell it . William died of malaria & Annie of Cancer .
The name William goes back to 1834, then in 1801 his father was Richard.

    Default Millington/Hulmes

    Karen

    This is great, thanks!

Not sure how far back you've managed to get with the Millington family.

I've managed to get back as far as the 1660s to a place called Waverton?

Happy to share details if you don't have them already.

Apparently, my wife's aunt has some photos from India too- I think that's where the story must have come from.

    Speak soon. Andrew
