Liverpool Anglican Cathedral from Berry Street/Great George Street/Duke Street corner, 1982.
This photograph was taken at a time when all of the old streets in this area- Nile Street and others- and their grand Georgian and Victorian houses had been cleared away. Many at the time thought there was a plan to create a new green open space here- a fitting setting for the great building- but instead the site today is occupied by a large housing scheme (illustrated below) which largely blocks the view of the Cathedral from this side.
