Drivers in Liverpool are being warned of changes to traffic flow on two roads in the city centre.

Traffic using North John Street will change direction from Monday evening, to go south from Dale Street towards Victoria Street.

North John Street will be closed on Sunday while new traffic signals and road markings are put in place.

Stanley Street will close on Wednesday night ahead of the change in direction for traffic mid-morning on Thursday.

Vehicles will then travel north from Victoria Street to Dale Street.

Stanley Street will be closed from 2100 GMT on Wednesday until 1100 GMT on Thursday, but access will be available for residents.

The city council said leaflets were being handed out advising motorists of the new road system.

These moves are part of a £73m package of road improvements to improve Liverpool's transport system.
