Thats the kind of density and scale we need to the east of the dock road/costco site again. Its a really under used, vast space that is perfect for more density and scale and to naturally continue the CBD/central area of the city. A calming of Leeds st and the relocation of retail "sheds" like costco would be great for this area.

Look at the size of the warehouse on the Dock Rd!!!! All these were demolished in the 1970/80s. A crime. The entrance to The Waterloo Good depot is shown. The dock in the foreground is the quite historic Victoria Dock. This is now filled in. It would terrific if it was excavated, or even partly excavated and high quality buildings built around the water space.

They could have boarded them up, ready to be converted to flats.

That warehouse was designed by W. Aubrey Thomas for Bibby's.
So much has gone, and continues to go.

Walton has to be one of my favorite parts of Liverpool too...I find County Road a fascinating place to walk along as I always spot something new. The detailing on some of the buildings is just amazing. The scans which Sirob has posted of Walton have been a pleasure to look at; i have a fascination with pics from the 70's; must be the "Life on Mars" factor!

Hi I recently heard the art deco pole which stood outside the entrance to the Kingsway Tunnel is now in a council depot in St Domingo Vale, who makes these decisions, surly you would agree it would look far better than the unseen roundabout thats there now (I say unseen as most of us don't notice what’s actually planted there)

Didn't he design the Liver? I thought it was Bibby's. I recall the large place. I was going to go for an interview for a job there once, and never did, but knew where it was.

Yes WW, The Liver and Tower Buildings amongst others. I never knew that was a Bibby's warehouse as their other premises were on Gt Howard street and around Formby st as you'll know.

Odd that you should mention this,as i've recently been asking around, if anyone knew what had happened to it? I've been surprised at how many older people dont remember it at all! Anyway, now i can show them your great pic' Sirob! Unfortunately, yet another bad example of Liverpool "culture" (as in let's knock it down, and make a carpark)
