    Default Molyneux, Marsh & Whitfield.

Scroll down to Monday 28th Jan 08. The 'poolproject' held a meeting for people with, or interested in these family names:

I am sorry to say I found out about this too late and missed this meeting.

I have both Marsh & Whitfield in my family tree - I can trace back from present day to 1880s.

Max, you maybe interested to see your name too.

looks like we belong to some very old Liverpool families

I would have guessed that Molyneux was French ?

Max will tell you more about that. I think he did say something about the French origins of that name.

I think Molyneuxs had a connection with either Speke hall or Croxteth hall.

Apparently, The Molyneuxs were in the Liverpool castle and they had built a bridge (which would have been located somewhere by the Church st area).
The Whitfields & Marsh families had some problem with this and tore it down.
.. and something about they got back the 'council tax' money of the day for the people.

I was listening to Jean Grant this morning on Radio Merseyside, she was telling the story.

You may be able to hear it on 'Listen again' - - it was 7:20am, Tony Snell show.

Not sure if it will be on yet as I havn't checked.

I don't really know anything about my family history. My name was from my Dads, dad side of the family Is all I know really but never met my granddad.

I couldn't trace family history even If I wanted to. Not seen any cousins or relatives on my dads side for years and wouldn't want to.
