Earth is the insane asylum for the universe.
I was prompted by JMLE to take a few pics of the exposed Tram Lines on St Oswalds recently, as there were roadworks going on..... heres a few
Oh, if you were looking for the Tramlines, apparently SIXTY TON of ot got taken away for scrap, wonder who got the proceeds
Anyway, they did leave a small piece.....
It was my fault for not telling you earlier that 3 full lengths of track were exposed.
Sowwy.
I thought they were tramlines that they dug up on St Oswalds Street, but wasnt sure.
Well, Well, Well.
After me searching for nearly TWO years for a copy of "SuperSwan", a film of the Old Swan Festival in 1976, our very own Colin Wilkinson has done the business with his colleague Dave.
It was originally placed with the LRO and mysteriously ended up in the BFI in London.
Dave went down there and brought it home
Filmed in 1976 it shows scenes around Old Swan and focuses on the Street Theatre, Doric Road Park activities, Prescot Road, some Street Parties and around the Flats on St Oswalds St. It lasts approx 1/2 hour and brings back so many memories for me.
Thanks to Colin for "sorting" it out. Colin and his colleague Dave were involved in the filming of this event and do have copies for sale if anyone is interested.
If you are interested, see the link to my website below and there are details on there.
Thanks Colin and Dave
Well done Colin, Dave and Mart for persuing this so vigorously.
Got the World Premier tonight !
30 people turning up hopefully sell some for Colin and Dave.
I have had a sneak preview and even got some screen shots...
Three Star Jumper halfway up his back....
Deffo a hand me down from his older bro is that
Did you find yourself in it then?
No, we were around the 15 yr age group so getting on film or following the Theatre was a no no,
smoking around the back entry is where we'd be
Film show went very well, thanks for asking
Looks like Dot Cotton in pic' no'1! Well done Martin!

Thanks for posting.

Brilliant film the music makes it too
Those 70's fashions! I remember the check jackets - everyone wore them, both men and women.
The guy coming out of the shop at the start of the film - he's a real 70's guy!
