The first pic here is Holly Street itself showing the back of the tennies. On the left side of the street looking up is the mock tudor 1914 style dwellings similar to those still in existance in Eldon Grove. We lived in 39 middle/bottom. The tennies hail from the 1920s and were demolished in the late 60s.

Edit: Personally, I don't have any recollection of an air raid shelter there but maybe it was demolished by then. I'm wondering if there may have been one in the 'backie' which was the square formed by the 1914 flats as these fronted onto Holly Street (as seen on the pic) then went around the corner into Christian Street, up Birkett Street and completed the square by coming along St. Anne Street to meet Holly Street again. The flats on St. Anne Street had shops below them.
