I think it's a good idea to keep it. (the Berry st one I mean)
I just wish it looked more like what it is meant to be.
To make it look like a rat Banksy needs to alter it a little. The face needs to be streamlined a little more with less fur sticking out at the sides. The mouth isn't quite right - he should have the teeth slightly showing so we know it is a rodent.
is it meant to be a pet rat ? - because normally sewer rats are all one colour.
Howie, that image looks more like what it is supposed to be.
I'm more concerned that 3 of the 4 corners at that road junction are derelict buildings.
The White House, Langdons and Kingham Knight.
Is this a record?
No it's just I don't belive someone with a tin of paint should force others to tip good money into a building that it's owners and the community don't appear to need till it's got a cat painted on it, it's madness in a city that is struggling to look after and protect the good and useful things that it has already.
I've never followed Banksy's art although I've seen some of his examples. At what point does it become art and at what point does it become graffiti?
I know that it was mentioned by another post that we can't keep every building in Liverpool else we would never move on -I agree to a point, but this is an usual shaped facade (at least the top is) and I would far rather have it there than some flat pack design they would try and erect in its place?
That picture does look more like a rat - although the head is a bit rabbity

This artwork was mentioned on Granada TV yesterday. The presenter called it..."cat slash rat".
I thought it was a cat too! But I agree that Banksy's work is supposed to temporary by its very nature and that building is an eyesore. I always feel embarrassed when I drive past it with tourists. But this wrapping should have been done long before. I've been at a Culture Company meeting and there's many more buildings they're planning to wrap in this "wrapping paper" including all the Lime Street ones in front of the station, some in Williamson Square and (not sure I agree with this one) the Port of Liverpool Building. I deffo think we need a thread on here with pics of the city as she is "wrapped." Perhaps the wrapping will become an attraction in its own right? Mmm I can feel a guided tour coming on!

I always thought it looked like a rat, but I can see why you could think it's a cat - the head is far too wide.
I was recently on an open-top tour bus in the city and a green badge guide was calling it a 'cat' and it was there because of the Chinese Year of the Cat - which doesn't exist. This fella was a GREEN BADGE guide for crying out loud.
I wouldn't mind but some of them are arrogant and don't like it when you correct them.
