The wind turbines at the Seaforth/Gladstone Docks. Does anyone know if these are used for the dock pumping systems?

At neap tides (lowest high tides) the docks are impounded, which is pumping river water into them to keep the water levels up. This is an expensive operation in energy to do and one reasons why the South End Docks were not competitive in the 1970s and then closed. Impounding the docks also means deeper draught vessels can be used.

Free energy via wind for most of this operation must be an obvious thing to do.
