Inspired by Ged's 'Bootle Lighthouse' question on the Liverpool Forts thread. I thought I'd expand on it here: Bootle lighthouse, or as it was known, The North Wall Lighthouse, was situated at the Northern end of Alexandra Dock; by the dock gates on the river wall. Although now demolished, the site of the lighthouse still remains there today (see attachment). I wonder if anything is left of the original structure? I couldn't find an image which was not copyrighted, so instead I'll post Ged's link to it below:
