    Default Witchy Words (CTG)

    Witchy Words

We hurtled up the M5 and scoped the signpost
"Webbs of Wychbold" which evoked witchy notions
apropos to the season, though learned later
it just directed visitors north of Droitwich
past the Holiday Inn to a garden center.

Still, witchy ideas lingered as I vowed to strangle
the GPS gal for misdirecting us down an autumnal
lane with oaks dangling with globes of mistletoe
and warty witches ogled us from crooked cottages
and stirred bubbling cauldrons ready for aliens.

Won't have a SatNav near my car, I am male, the hunter gatherer, I can find my way using the stars, and natural indicators .............. oh and an A-Z or OS map and a woman in the passenger seat who can lean out the window and ask passers by

    Hi Prefab

When we were in the U.K. in 2009 we didn't have GPS and got lost several times driving in the East End of London, Lancaster, and Northern Ireland, so I think on those occasions the technology would have been a benefit and have saved us some petrol and grief. Despite the frustrations of GPS... I was ready to throttle the dame right after we drove off from the Enterprise car hire HQ at Heathrow when she told us to go one way and the signs definitely pointed us in another direction... there were occasions where it led us directly to where we wanted to go.

    All the best

    Chris
