    Default Brockbank and Mellor.

Anyone here got any info' on this building,at the bottom of Seel st? It's the original frontage, with the names Brockbank and Mellor on it,but with a completley new/different building behind! There are now, several buildings in that area, that have been "re-designed" for different uses, which is great,as the design and brickwork, is generally, much more ornate than usual!

An 1879 directory, The Commercial Directory and Shippers Guide, lists Brockbank & Mellor, wine and spirit merchants, at 17-19 Seel Street. The reuse of the front of old buildings seems to be a modern trend... nice to see they keep something of the old at least.

Thanks for that Chris! I took a couple more,of refurbished buildings in the area,so your street directory might come in handy!
