A few more from Garssendale Park, L19
Used to play around these as kids, there were many more of them to the left behind the wall you can see, from WW2?
Kev Grassendale looks brilliant,I've never actually been around there but I'll have to make an effort soon, and by the way that's Steven Gerrards House.
Stevie G -
Take a drive down but very slowly there are speed bumps everywhere. Anyway, you have more time to appreciate the individual houses and very impressive they are too.
There are actually 2 proms that are attached via a walk-through from one to the other.
The first part, where Cressington Station is can be entered opposite Garston Old Rd, there is a Church on the left as you pass through.
The second part, where that old man sadly crashed through the barrier a few days ago is found when you drive down a road called Grassendale Rd where the petrol garage is.
Thanks for the advice Kev,I saw that crash in the Echo, isn't it weird everywhere I went over the weekend something bad happened, there was the crash and then there was the oil spill.
Grassendale is a lovely spot. The houses are so grand looking.
Paul D Those photos of Formby are beautiful. We used to go there a lot. Must go again very soon.
Great pics of Speke Hall, it's true that all Liverpool kids grow up with tales of the ghosts there I remember being in awe at the place when I was little and listening to the spooky stories.
Had a walk around Grassendale Esplanade this afternoon.
oohh, it's lovely down there. So peaceful, and the view over the river.
Don't know the area very well, but we drove down thru' Salisbury rd (I think it was) - saw Cressington station - we parked at the bottom by Knowsley rd & South rd. It is such a nice area. It must be nice to live there.
I wonder if it is quiet like that all the time ??
It was so peaceful this afternoon. We only saw one other person walking by.
It's like another planet from where I live !!!
Drove further along to St Michaels in the Hamlet which is another nice little area tucked away.
That Otterspool?
Was just in the Otterspool part.
Hadn't been their for years so took long to get out of it.
Gididi Gididi Goo.
I used to play Tennis down there, it's nice.

Scroll down the page here for more pics of Grassendale Park.
Crekky Park is very nice. The housing is just maginficent and the esplinade is really peaceful. I went there in the pouring rain so the view wasn't all that brilliant but those houses on the front must be worth an awful lot. The River Wirral and North Wales can all be seen from their front rooms. I mean, who wouldn't want to live there? Plus, it's accessible too! You can get into the City Centre in good time and now you can get to the airport more convieniantly and catch trains going to London, Birmingham, Manchester ect. All thanks to the new Liverpool South Parkway. It's just really ideally placed!Originally Posted by lindylou
To be honest, I thought St Michaels Village was a little dissapointing. The buildings were nice but they did look a little tired.
cressy park is quiet all the time i take my son(5) down there all the time.great sunsets and watching the herons feeding, along with foxes which we've spotted on the beach a few times.also seen a few fish which have been stranded by the tide.6 numbers and i'm there.
