GD, they are building a new pedestrian bridge into the station,

Next time your down there GD can you take a picture of the Post Box before it gets destroyed / damaged by the construction. This post box is V.R. (Victoria Reigns) I dont recall seeing another like it in the City.

I think there's one down at the Albert Dock JB, the very one which stood on the corner of Soho St and William Henry Street in the 60s and 70s according to my sources?

    V.R. (Victoria Reigns)
JB,VR does not stand for the above it stands for Victoria Regina,Regina being A canadian province(Saskatchewan) named after queen victoria in 1882 and in short means Victoria Queen.

One of the reasons our Queen had so many kids was because she had E.R. on her knickers.

    I am confused by this.
Sandhills is an island platform so the footbridge can't connect to the platforms.
If somehow it did by being at a higher level than the trains, there would still only be a need for one. Unless it has nothing to do with rail passengers.
I will have to be nosy and go and have a look tomorrow unless anyone knows what it is all about.

Well curiosity got the better of me so off I went this rainy morning.
These are cable bridges to take all the signalling and communication cables in preparation for the replacement of the railway bridge over the Xmas period.

So on Xmas day and Boxing day there is going to be some interesting action going on here.
Who will be giving up their xmas dinner to take some piccies?

I noticed there was a heap of ballast ready on each span, they must be trying to get as much prepared as possible now. My guess is they are on a job and knock.
