Kev, your not lookin, I have posted, the first picture is the old footbridge across a disused railway line on corporation road, the second photographs are of the kingsway tunnel, I dont think this enterence was ever used. I am not sure as to why you require a reason for taking the photographs as I do not see anyone else posting reasons for taking photographs, if others have been posting reasons for taking their photographs then I certainly have not seen them.

Kat, if you take the photos later in the day with the sun behind you you'll get nicer skies. Cameras are limited to how wide a range of light they can process. You can see on the 3rd the sky doesn't quite look like sky should do. This is known as blown highlights. The brighter areas of the sky are too much for the camera to take at that time of day. If you shoot at a later time of day, say 2 hours before sunset and after then, the camera will work better and you'll get nicer skies.
Kat, The side entances were used in the 50's and early 60's for dock traffic, the docks at that time were busy.
You can always count on Americans to do the right thing - after they've tried everything else.

Thats the info I was looking for many thanks. For someone who resides in the South Liverpool area having plenty of locations to snap it great we'eve got u aboard posting Wirral.
I honestly didn't know these were not used, I though maybe that they were proposed entrances or something that were never used.
I was genuinely interested Kat.
Edit: I tried to email you but it would work so here's the email:
I've responded to your reply, please read it as I was genuinely interested and was wanting more info about it thats all, you have provided the info so thanks.
With my 'Admin' head, I'm also keen to provide a growing resource (which you have contributed s well to since joining), for general visitors and other members who might not always know the influences, history, reasons for posting a pic. So any extra info is always a bonus.
The last two are the docks exit for Queensway, analogue to the New Quay exit this side of the water. One of the reasons it was closed was because traffic using it coming from Liverpool had to make a right turn across oncoming traffic, hence there were traffic lights in the tunnel, causing obvious problems!
Dave.
Thanku dave for the additional information. I often wondered why it was closed off. Mind u regarding the fiftys and 60s I wasnt around then so didnt know it was used for the docks.
Must have caused alot of problems back then when you consider how busy it was with the docks an all.

You should have sneaked down the road and took a shot through the railings across the tunnel entrance.
Dave.
