Default The Crystal Set Radio (CTG)

    The Crystal Set Radio

My father and I discussed making one
but I don't think that we ever did.
Today, the name "crystal set" seems exotic,
like the crystal skulls Aztecs are said
to have carved, but are mostly modern fakes.

Ha! an archaic term my physics master Mister
    Barnett used: "steam radio"! Faint
    voices emanated from darkness
    amid scratchy, whiny noise
    -- they might have been
    from Alpha Centauri --
as I endlessly twiddled the knobs.

I made one o those manymoons ago when short pants were in fashion.

My woody teacher showed me how to make it and was about to retire as the woody teacher,he gave me about 30 or 40? different crystals and I made the crystal set and made a switching bank for each crystal in stead of plugging them in indivdually.

I got Allsorts of transmission bands on different frequencies through the crystal switching bank.
30 years on and I was repairng CB radio and Amature radio gear
