Upper Dawson Street opened out on to the Poultry market, at the side of St John's Market off Market Street. IOW's the lady standing on the corner in the illustration is standing in the same place as the lady in the photo. The views however look in different directions.

Excellent series Kev, thanks for posting.

"SL053 - Lord Molyneux' Residence Sweeting Street. No date." Sorry just one correction. This residence was on the north side of Lord street? "Sweeting street" is mentioned twice above.

Is this the same place, found on Flickr

Sweeting Street, Liverpool, UK. This cobbled alley off Dale Street, once known as 'Elbow Lane', featured in a Hovis TV advert in 2008.

    Sweeting Street, Liverpool

The map appears to show the street is close to the Town Hall.
