I like the loopy, circular ferry idea.
Also in the C19th, the Russians tried building warships the same shape. The problem was that when they fired their guns, unless they were aligned perfectly and all fired simultaneously, the ship would be propelled into rotational motion like a catherine wheel.
With ideas that like, no wonder they got hammered in the Russian-Japanese war in 1904.![]()
