    Thumbs up E & F Beattie Artists Liverpool Collections Paintings late 1800's & early 1900s

    Here are some paintings showing Liverpool in the late 1800's early 1900s by the Artist/s Beattie. Not sure if Beattie was one person or two people with initials E & F.

    You may have seen some posted elsewhere on the forum but as far as I can remember, not together.

    LAW040.jpg - Owen Owen's premises, 1911. When Owen Owens was situated at the corner of London Road & Audley Street.

    LAW003.jpg - Pembrooke Place, 1906. Small factories - a major employer - matchbox makers.

    HPH001.jpg - Everyday life in the city, 1911. Stylised view of Browlow Hill in early 20th century.

    LAW006.jpg - Wavertree Mill and Quarry, 1911. Another image showing suburban Liverpool at work.

    LAW009.jpg - Otterspool Farm, 1911. Liverpool outskirts remained semi rural up to 100 years ago.

    LAW002.jpg - Renshaw Street, 1898. East side of the street showing a number of small shops and businesses.

    FLP013.jpg - Mount Pleasant. Birthplace of William Roscoe, 1820. Bowling Green Inn.

    SL010.jpg - Booker Lane, Allerton, 1911. Is there anything left of Booker Lane?

    LAW005.jpg - Glebe Farm Dairy, 1904. These dairies were found in all Liverpool suburbs - this was on the Walton Road.



    LGW069.jpg - The Mersey during the Great Frost, 1881. Boats trapped in ice ice baby.

    LAW001.jpg - Shops at corner of Church Street, 1898. Showing the thriving city centre.

    LAW008.jpg - Black Horse Smithy, 1910. Local industry in West Derby.

    LAW004.jpg - Springfield Mill, 1906. Rural Walton - are parts of this still standing?

    LAW007.jpg - Wavertree Green, 1910. Sheep grazing in the fields on Wavertree Green!

    TTL001.jpg - Lime Street, 1908. Watercolour showing roof of Lime Street Station and shops in front of it. A familiar view even in 2011!
