Default Help sought re two addresses.

Brothers and sisters,I would be extremely grateful for any help whatsoever with the following. Two of my ancestors show up on the 1881 census in Baker St.,off Hall Lane N S?,
    Huyton With Roby.
The 1911 census has another relative living in School House,Top Row, Tarbock.
Is it possible to find out where these addresses where and if they still exist?
    Muchas gracios y adios.
    Tom.

    From this site...

I have had no success in obtaining a link to their reference TB25, although it does sound promising.

Baker Street is still there although in a different guise - http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&...,59.88,,0,4.04

Baker Street is off School Lane and they're in an area which could be classed a Tarbock so School House could have been there too.

Top Row, Tarbock. No mention of the School House though. There is however, a School Lane close by, near to Bottom Row. I've plotted where Top Row was located over a Google Earth view, to give you an idea. As you can see, some city planner had plonked the M57/M62 roundabout over the top of it.

Top Row today. Top Row is on 'Dacre's Bridge lane' to go by its name today (shown below). This is the narrow lane leading off into the trees. I think it is still accessible, and who knows there may be some evidence of the houses still there...an old garden wall perhaps?

Also, it might be worthwhile looking your ancestor's neighbours who are listed on the same census sheet for Top Row. It may give you an idea as to which house was the School House?

Note to Kev. There is a 'Gold Star' motif missing from the list.

Thanks Oudeis. I haven't had one of those since I was at school...and then I was more likely to get a clip around the ear.

I have just got my hands on the laptop and so have only just seen my post. What can I say?
Oudeis, you have obviously been to a lot of trouble on my behalf and I truly appreciate yoor efforts, thank you brother O.
Mark, you also have put yourself out in order to help me and I am beholden to you for that.
Sister Dot,you have been beavering away behind the scenes as it were, and your industry does you credit, I thank you sister Dotty.
Mes amis, while all of the above is heartfelt, I must say to Dazza that I am gobsmacked, slightly embarrassed, and indeed, humbled that you should go to such lengths in order to help a numpty newbie.
You are a star Dazza, a star.
All the info you have found for me is leading me to a conclusion for my project, and I will certainly be out with my camera to some of these sites.
Thanks everybody, and don't worry, I will wait a wee while afore I make another request!!

Thanks Tom, glad I could help in some way. I did mine a few years ago, and once you know where all the resources are, it's quite easy to put it all together.

Good luck visiting the sites and taking the photos etc...

    Cheers,

    Daz
