One night he left a bit early and by the time I left they had closed the dock gate so I was locked in.
The only way out was to carry my bike and with one hand swing around the railings to the half tide Princes dock,as the tide was out there was a 40 foot drop if I had fallen.

    Hiya Joe mate..

I've seen that drop you are on about, with a bike as well ?... nutter...

I've a pic somewhere of the lads fishing over the wall, I'll add it when I find it..

Thanks again mate, keep up the great work Joe..

Liverpool Days.. exhibition for 'my own' Scottie Rd people..

My last exhibition was a great success, it was the most popular apparently of all the exhibitions held at Studio 2 on Parr Street...
now I've had the offer to put on an exhibition in a venue over the road
from where I live, my mam would be one proud woman if she saw the way things are going for me lately...
I'm having to give this one some thought though as displaying up to 40 images is one thing..
where do they go after the exhibition has finished.. ?.... we'll see...!

'The kids on the bridge....One hot summer'..
the best photograph I will ever take.. My... 'Decisive Moment'

    Tomorrow's LRO photos....today ?.... yeahhhh, I'd say so...
    for posterity, like..!

A view across what was the Clarence Dock power station..

I imagine the Legoland fans are rather chuffed with themselves today..
soon that area in the photo will be full of nice big shiny dull skyscrapers...
My god, the thought of the nice but dim more money than sense brigade that know nothing and couldn't care less about this areas history taking this area over makes me sick...it really does, I'm all for change...but do these fresh faced pimply straight out of uni architect dick heads all use the same manual..?.....does it have to be big, black, shiny and horrible....just a thought..!

    Did I hear 'Mooooooooooreeeeee....' ??

    Liverpools Dockland March 2012.
Staging at Princes Half Tide Dock
    ..

I have an original unseen photo of the landing stage in this photo being constructed, complete with workmen on it posing for the photo...
I've dated the photo to around 1910 as the Liver Building can be seen in the background nearing completion with scaffolding around it and the top not yet built....I came across a lot of old unseen Liverpool photos while on one of my mooches around the old warehouses, I've looked everywhere and can not find these photos, some show some sort of Royal visit to Liverpool..I think it was to open the Georges Dock....I'll be showing these photos on my website when I've done a little more research into them and know excatly what they show... some are obvious, fantastic photos I've never seen before on top of the OH Railway...

Wey heyyyyyyyy.... Its Friday, its the long photo editing night...
and tonight.... its Liverpool's Dockland.. and there's lots like the photo below to come...

I seem to remember a lot of excitement and talk of 'More Visits Lined up.'....
not so popular this area all of a sudden then ?....

Security clampdown I believe... good job some of us, me... can come and go as we please...
Wait till yer see the vids I've made.... for posterity like... yer know.. ...

---------- Post added at 03:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:34 PM ----------

My prob is yer see I cant be everywhere at once...

I mean, try it.. ?..... (Particularly those with a lot to say that dont take their own..)
in demand all over place to take pics... people wanting this that and the other...
making a right little name f'meself.... and its great I must say...
getting praise for your own work and something you did.. you cant beat that..believe me.

Then we have the old pics....
I'm pleased to say I have hundreds and hundreds to add to my website... when I sit still like long enough..

I've just scanned about 45 photos belonging to Gary Shaw for a gallery on my site of his photos..
hundreds and hundreds more to come....
gimmeeeeee a chance though eh, eh... know warra mean like...

---------- Post added at 04:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:54 PM ----------

What do photos taken in The Everyman before closure... 700 photos, kitchens, staff..people, over the closing month..
Lewis's before closure.. hundreds and hundreds over the closing month..
Liverpools dockland unusual videos and photos...
Brian Epsteins office he sacked Pete Best in at NEMS Whitechapel...
now being demolished at this minute...
(Inc videos all over what was NEMS....offices, shop floor... basement booths areas..
have in common ?....apart from me taking the pics.. and making the vids...)

Shall I tell you what they have in common.. ?
They are all as valuable to Liverpools/Beatles heritage as any taken 50 years ago..
Why...?... because they cant be taken again... thats why..
Now dont all go overboard eh and maybe pass a little congratulations where its due..
    It is Yoliverpool after all...

The NEMS Epstein office vids and photos...
    Lets start the bidding at....

I'll throw in as well Vids I've made in Lennons Quarry Bank Classrooms.
and vids I made on Quarry Bank hall stage the Quarry Men played on..
what about a vid I made in the tiny bathroom Lennon, McCartney
and The Quarry Men all crammed into in John's Mums house..
(The only vid in existence in that bathroom.... thats right, I made it...dont all clap at once...)
Also a vid I made in his Art College studios.... I'll lob the lot in..

Have a nice evening, I intend to...

More contacts made... more people, charities....
I hope to be involved with taking photos for them....

The years of walking the streets of Scottie, Granby, Kensington at all hours...
getting stuck right in the middle of riots..getting told to f'o** by pimps and their girls at midnight on Netherfield Rd...
all in the cause of trying to learn my art and be a little different in my approach to Liverpool street photography...
has all been worth it.... every rainy, foggy and snowy mile...

When this kind of appreciation is shown....

Comment left by Dr Frank Carlyle, Liverpool Historian extraordinaire....

The 'Big Night' was a huge success at our wonderful 'Town Hall'. The evening raised over £2000 for 'Autism' and that is the most important thing about the night! There are so many people to thank on here, but I must single out Gerard Fleming for giving up his time to take so many photos of the night. Also, John Lea for providing his wonderful 'Maggie May's' famous 'Scouse'. Thanks lads! And a big special Thank You to all the people who made the effort to turn out! xxxx

Comment left by George Roberts.. ex Granby St area resident...

You are fast becoming Liverpool's, most comprehensive, photo journalist.
Keep up the very, very good work and best wishes G
