The pictures that stand out in my mind are those that are nowadays referred to as gritty. There was one of a couple of characters who had either missed the bus through life, or just had not bothered to get on board. It may have been taken in a soup kitchen, I cannot remember. But, they are a part of the city as much as the beautiful people, and I admire you for giving them some exposure too. Like the song "You can't have one without the other." Another was that tall, lean fellar on Islington, standing in the rain with his fists clenched. He reminded me so much of someone I used to know, from Erskine Street,
Anyway, keep doing what YOU know you must do, and don't give up posting them - we'll tell you what we like about them.

Last night I had the choice of some lantern festival somewhere down the south end..
Or.. the peace and quiet on the street where I was born.. No contest whatsoever..
The building on the right is now The Atlantic Cafe..
it is right next door to the Stanley Tobacco Warehouse on Gt Howard Street....
It used to be called The Brown Cow Pub..
and my Mam owned it and I was born upstairs in the pub...
one of my earliest childhood memories is riding a 3 wheeler trike thingy with the ribbon tassles on the handlebars up and down the street by that lamp post...

The Dock Rd area late at night.. Sunday 30th October 2011.
my kinda night out taking Liverpool photos..

More from Sunday 30th October 2011...
The Midnight Special... well, not exactly midnight on Pall Mall..

    The Anglican Cathedral..
    don't know how I missed these pics!......fantastic.

Some people turn their noses up at them Samsette, and wish they'd just vanish..
they wont.. and while I'm around I'll do my best to highlight their plight..

I'll put photos of the homeless in the soup kitchen on soon...

Thank you Samsette, I appreciate your comment.....

Ged have you got Twitter? Be great to have an update feed automatically of new shots. You should think about setting one up if you haven't. Dead simple too!

You never fail to surprise me with your pics, A1 mate, especially the barbers shop, you could have tried posing him for years and never have got that result....that little capture of time tells so many stories. You're an artist supreme.

Great thought provoking shots posted again by Gerard, his images dont need accompanying words or a Fancy Art degree to understand them, they hit you in the face and demand your attention, and each tell their own story perfectly. Well done yet again Gerard mate

Great pics from Gerard. I like the way there is often little surprises with unusual scenes or different perspectives.

Trouble is .. Gerard will be under pressure now to keep producing more !
