Geese Over Baltimore

I hear their gabbling calls
before I see them above
my apartment window

in the snow-drifting sky
this Christmas morning:
a wavering diagonal



flying north, no vee,
but followed by another
gaggle of gabbling travelers

in a near perfect formation
-- that's vee for very nice,
sets the seal on my morning.
