Great stuff! That's in Aintree isn't it? It's used now by a car breakers. I had to go there to get a new window for my old car (don't park in Stockport...) about a year ago, and turned the corner and was amazed by what I saw!

That place must've been amazing in it's heydey. I'm glad a lot of the buildings have survived, although I do wish it was all abandoned so I could sniff round there without being hassled!

It's where they filmed the series Lilies.

That was a bit further down near the bus sheds on Aintree industrial estate near Taskers. The loop line runs past both there and Hartleys hill.

A 1977 view of the gate in Dave's first photo. It was taken by the Walton Times and is located in Crosby Library.

Thanks for the pic Ged. Couldn't remember whether that building to the right of the pic was still standing when I took mine, so I go looking for my Hartley pics....and I can't find them now! Doin' my head in mate! I'll have another look later on.

I wonder if any of the lilies set could be seen from the loop line ?

Mind you, I suppose not. Doubt if they would leave it open to prying eyes and vandals.
