Question Field Lane - Liverpool 10

I have a postcard addressed to my grandfather in 1938 with an address on Field Lane, Liverpool 10.

No house number is given, just a house name of "Scalby" in honour of his Yorkshire roots.

Anyone know anything about Field Lane in the pre-war era? It looks like all new housing now.

I don't think this was the house he was bombed out of in WWII, but it may be - again anyone know of any bomb hits on that road?

I lived in Fazakerley. Before the dual carriageway was built the main road to kirkby was along Field Lane to Ingoe Lane and on to Kirkby. The houses on Field Lane all had names not numbers as i recall,my friend lived in the Abrigo on Field Lane his father was the Methodist minister at Lower Lane/Longmore Lane church.
Along from the houses was an old R.A.F. camp, many hours of fun for us kids playing on there. My grandparents lived in Fazakerley from 1928/9 they were the first in their house after it was built.

Thanks for the info - interesting that there were no house numbers...
