Hi there, Just thought you might like to know that Lan-opc (Lancashire online parish clerks) website (free) has the Old Swan listed as an area of Liverpool. There are two CofE churches; St Anne Stanley (I kid you not!) established 1832 and All Saints 1875.

This was pre-registration of births, marriages and deaths so you are looking for a baptism in the local parish records rather than districts. The baptism took place at St Anne Stanley the baptism transcript appears on Family Search it is as follows:-

    Name: John Stanley
    Gender: Male
    Baptism Date: 21 Oct 1832
    Place: Stanley, Lancashire, England
    Father's Name: Henry Stanley
    Mother's Name: Mary
