I'd like to add my sympathies to those already here. Very sad, but as has been said before, do not dwell on the death but on the life well lived.

Very sorry Chris to hear your sad news of your mum, take care.
I know without doubt that the thoughts and prayers of all yoers are with you and your family at this time . I think of my mammy almost every day especially at birthday time but rejoice in the pleasure akin to the cat that got the cream that yet another scouser is aloft looking down and protecting us and our beloved city from all ills that prevail us. A candle will be lit by me and mine for you and yours this week .
So long ,scouser child, so long
My deepest sympathy,Chris,on your loss.
So sorry to hear of your loss Chris, My wife and I send our condolences, and sympathise with you at this sad time.
Hi everyone
Thanks for your very kind words, everyone. They mean a lot to Donna and myself. We are having a memorial gathering at a local Baltimore funeral home at 1:00 pm on Saturday and will then reconvene at a nearby restaurant in an old mill area of the city near the Jones Falls which powered those mills... at least one of the factories made "cotton duck" sails for sailing ships and another made iron that was used in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Some of the people who will be coming to the gathering are people we have known since we came to this country, but now mostly children of the English people or Americans that my parents knew who themselves have passed away. The passing of an era when you think about it.
Many thanks for your support!

Hi Oddsocks
Thanks for your kind words. I think poetry is a nice way to remember my mother... and is a type of therapy for me as well.

Yes Chris, your feelings are embodied in your poem. Not hard to see that.
