    Default The Road to Alang

Here is where many of the Liverpool Liners ended up, Cunard and Canadian Pacific.

    Hi Ernie,
thats right so sad to see a once great ship full of life and then on the scrappers beach. The Empress boats, Canada and Britain are there I was on.
I should be on that beach myself, I am still getting hospital treatment from my injuries in the Antarctic last year, one lousy year of pain and bad health. Hope to be fit and healthy one day.
"I SHALL RETURN" as Macarther once said.
    Cheers
    Brian

    Good thread Brian.

Couple of my old ships there, Sylvania & Ivernia. It's sad to see such magnificent ocean going vessels being torn apart.

I remember when I used to sail the Medi up to Piraeus and we steamed for hours passing hundreds of ships, all at anchor, waiting for the knacker man.
If I'm not mistaken I think the location was used in a Bond film.
